Need for Speed is not by any means the perfect racing game with the best graphics, physics or anything like that. So why is it at the top? So I made it nr 1 on my list, because you have probably played a Need for Speed title sometime during the last 20 years. Whether it was Hot Pursuit III in the 90’s or the Most Wanted series more recently, NFS is one of the oldest racing gaming series out there. Need for Speed Payback is the 23rd installment in the series and is available on PC, Xbox and Playstation. Like most NFS games, Payback has a rich storyline which combines fun and adrenaline pumping racing missions. It is set in an open world and you have a choice to play with 3 different characters, each with unique skills and traits. The story have a lot of good plots and surprises in store, I’ll let you see for yourself. Need for Speed Payback is the perfect racing game if you want to relax and have a lot of fun.2. Forza Horizon 3 & Horizon 4
The Forza Horizon Series is the ultimate open world racing experience you will find at the moment. With great visuals, awesome cars and just a really beautiful world to drive through. What makes each Forza Horizon title unique, is the fact that it takes place at totally different locations which keep the curiosity going. Forza Horizon 4 launched in October 2018 and is definitely be one of the best racing games for 2018, so don’t miss it! It is set in a fictional version of Great Britain and have a dynamic weather system, meaning summers, winters, springs and autumns. You will have the ability to choose from 450 licensed vehicles, from super cars to weird and funny looking machines. Players also have the opportunity to buy houses in the game that unlock certain perks cars and other bonuses. But if you haven’t played Forza Horizon 3, make sure to give it a try as the open world experience will be unique for each game. Forza Horizon 3 took place in the Australian landscapes with forest like areas, open grass plains and a large desert area with its red sand. You are the star that must race in several events to promote the Horizon Festival, gain more followers and grow the event. There are a lot of different races like sprints, circuits, unique events and more. The best is that you can also create your own, with whatever car you want to drive. Forza Horizon finds the perfect balance between simulation racing games and arcade racing games, where you can configure everything that is best for your play style. Forza Motorsport 7 is basically the same game as Forza Horizon 3, with similar graphics, physics and other dynamics. So what’s the difference? The Forza Motorsport series is perfect if you love track racing in a variety of different cars and classes. The main story starts where you are running away from the police and when you finally lose their tail, you meet up with a friend at your brother’s motor club.Taking your brother to meet someone, something tragic happens where you got arrested and sent to prison for 5 years.When you finally came out, the hunt start and the story takes you over the whole of America.You are looking for the guy that killed your brother that night! Racing and infiltrating different criminal groups to get information is also an interesting part of the game.If you’re looking for a racing game with an excellent story to go with it the, The Crew 2 is definitely something you should check out.6. Based on the significantly improved Mount & Blade: Warband engine, Blood and Gold Caribbean is an open-world RPG with economic strategy elements included. Separated into several mini-games that require different skills, Sid Meier’s Pirates! also features a sailing map mode where players navigate around the iconic Caribbean islands looking for missions. The gameplay encompasses a huge variety of actions, including sailing, trading, engaging in naval combat, capturing ships, sword fighting and even dancing. With a very rich list of in-game activities, Sid Meier’s Pirates! is one of the most iconic and beloved buccaneer games ever released.
Blackwake
Blackwake is a multiplayer naval FPS video game that is mainly focused on team work and cooperation, the player being able to join a pirate crew or take up the role of the ship’s Captain and lead his team into battle. Up to 16 real players led by another player have to work in perfect synergy and man the cannons, patch holes in the ship, repair sails, pump out water and fire at the enemy ships that are approaching. Blackwake really offers all the authentic pirate thrill packed up in a highly immersive video game.

Sea of Thieves is an upcoming 2017 action-adventure video game where the players have the ability to write their own stories using in-game tools and resources, as stated by the game’s developers. The player joins a crew and takes the helm of a pirate ship, steering it around the sea by coordinating with the whole team of sailors. Some other gameplay elements include hunting for treasures, gathering resources to craft equipment and engaging in battles. Sea of Thieves looks really promising and we can’t wait to get our hands on this innovative pirate themed title.
Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag
Set during the Golden Age of Piracy and following the story of the notorious Welsh pirate Edward Kenway, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is definitely the most famous title when you think of pirate based video games. Unlike the previous titles of the franchise, Black Flag offers a gameplay focused on naval exploration, Edward Kenway being the captain of the Jackdaw, a brig he captures from a Spanish fleet. The massive open-world is one of the big pluses this game has to offer, the players being able to roam freely across the three main cities of Havana, Nassau and Kingston.
